midwife crisis

Ma N Pa were safely collected from a delayed flight last night, it's all rather wet and soggy and there were some semi flooded roads to content with, but they are now installed and it's great to have them here. We tucked into midnight omelets and had a wee snifter to celebrate.
Lovely late and slow start to the day, (except for the rapid response burnt toast team) we all headed out for a stroll around the Xmas village market and after me declaring that we don't need any more food, we came home with local eggs, Walters home made courgette & ginger jam x 2 jars (utterly divine) apple chutney x 1 jar, a bracelet made from a bent spoon, cards, homemade mini mince pies and a sack of mini squash (present from Tim) and some beetroots (I had to buy something after he'd given me a sack of freebees).
We made a quick dash to Barley cove to enjoy a pretty sunny mild afternoon. I wanted to be sure that we made it out at least once as the weather forecast is appalling tomorrow. It was as wild, empty and stunning as ever, never failing to delight us all.
We got home at sundown and Hubs has plied us with a delicious festive brew of hot cider, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, brandy and honey. Mmm mmmm.
Moroccan Chicken and chickpea tagine with rice was on the menu tonight followed by last nights 'Strictly' Final. Oh, so good. Well done Lewis and Flavia. That programme just gets better and better.
