Humid!

We woke about 2am and stayed awake for a couple of hours but then managed to get back to sleep (listening to Gardener’s Question Time episodes which always gets me off!) until nearly 9am, so not too bad.
After a rather experimental breakfast (bread and butter pudding, custard, fish congee and chicken tandoori anyone?) we decided to head off top the zoo and spent a few hours wandering round and going on the river safari as well...busy but easy to get around and plenty to see. We loved the orangutans in particular whose favourite game seemed to be hiding under a sack to get some peace from each other.
Headed back to the hotel early afternoon and after a shower and a change of clothes (it’s been so hot and humid!) I did some prep for the first meeting of the trip then had a good chat with our contact. T slept most of the afternoon then we headed down to Orchard Rd and wandered around the malls and streets of older houses - what a contrast! - and stopped in one of the old places for a rather nice gin and earl grey cocktail before Beef Rendang in a little Malaysian place that was tasty but I think we were the last customers of the evening. Walked home (lots of steps today!) and T watched the GoT finale. As someone who hasn’t ever seen an episode I was puzzled!
