Diary of an Edinburgher

Managed more than half an hour on the bike this morning. I'm watching 'Bodies' on the iPad, so that fair distracts me. I've seen it before, but it's well worth watching again. But you have to look away during the graphic operation scenes. It's Jed Mercurio's best work. He wrote 'Line of Duty' and the vastly overrated 'Bodyguard'.

We took Archie up the hill, and it was quite warm. After running between us for ages, he had a good roll around in the cool grass. And he ran down from the top of the hill when I blew my whistle from the bench away down at the bottom.

JR dropped four bags of clothes and shoes in at the charity shop. She keeps appearing in 'new' tops that she'd forgotten about.

In the afternoon an ex-colleague popped round to see the renovations. She's been off school all term with a bad back. We were reminded about all the stuff teachers have to put up with, and that made us very happy. That and a G&T.

My blood tests were inconclusive, which was not what I hoped for. The doctor who said she'd ring to discuss them today is on holiday! Apparently she rang last week, but I was in and she didn’t, and there was no message left. A different doctor will ring tomorrow.

JR is delighted to note that Kate Middleton was wearing the same white sonnies that she has. But JR's were cheaper...
