Whitebeam.
Not a brilliant shot but I was experimenting with multiple exposures. It hasn't worked as well as I hoped but it is the best of a bad lot.
The Whitebeam (sorbus aria) was a little thing about the size of a brush shank when we first came to the garden, now the trunk is about 40 - 45 cm (15 - 18 inches) in diameter. It provides lots of interest during spring, summer and early autumn. The progress from soft grey downy leaves, through the white flowers attracting bees to the yellow berries feeding the birds in autumn. Its only draw back is the lack of autumn colour and the fact its leaves start to fall very early in the season.
