Marqués de Riscal Hotel

We moved on from Bilbao this morning to stay in the medieval village of Hondaribbia which is close to the pyrennees on the northern coast of Spain. No we did not stay in the Marqués de Riscal Hotel but visited it en route. Another Frank Gehry design, set in a vineyard, where the cheapest rate for one night at the end of July would be £270 per room. Another fantastic building.

Today we went on a tour of the Bodega Contino where we were given a tour of the vineyard and winery. This was followed by a wine tasting of their fine Rioja wines and a three course lunch.
