Backblip 20 May: Heading Eastwards
Tired of being cold and wet we thought about going home but that seemed a little defeatist. The Driver consulted the weather maps and declared the best of the weather to be in the East. So, we headed East, towards the Rhone, with the hope of then driving northwards and looping around to home that way. It meant abandoning plans for a rack railway ride and a France Passion stop at a Moroccan Restaurant (in a tent!) amongst others, but we knew that we would find alternative pleasures quite readily.
We had a pleasant drive through the Auvergne and on to the Ardèche, including a 10 km stretch of 1:10 downhill. This is us on the way down, having stopped to admire the view from a layby.
Despite the astounding scenery and bright and sunny weather, I appear to have taken no interesting photos this day.
