A moment of calm
The prime minister announced her resignation today. We will have to endure weeks of watching her party’s shenanigans as they search for a new leader, Only a small number of people get to choose our next PM. A curious thing, democracy in the UK.
I had a meeting in Manchester this afternoon. The City Centre can feel either dynamic, or chaotic, depending on your point of view. The Jazz festival was getting underway, quite noisy. Kids (and their Mums) we’re out demonstrating about climate change, they made a lot of noise too. I witnessed a tram crash into the back of a stalled car. Quite a bang. Lots of fire engines and firemen (and women) on Corporation St, no idea what that was about. A bus straddled a tramline, The tram driver made his ire known. Lots of noise, Police motorbikes and cars with lots of flashing blue lights and wailing sirens were escorting a lock up van somewhere. Something to do with a gang criminal on trial I guess. And everywhere people were getting into weekend and bank holiday mode. .
So the blip is a moment of calm. I was at the Craft and Design Centre chatting to A. Her birthday was earlier in the week, she has yet to take the present home and plant it. It’s a Dicentra Spectabilis. I thought the flowers were very striking. A placed a white sheet behind to give the pic more focus.
