Good to be back. Two events this evening: an excellent session on the links between men who commit acts of domestic violence and then become radicalised terrorists. 8/10.
Then Jo Brand taking about her book Born Lippy. Funny and true and a good follow-on from the previous event because there is a theme, which is how to empower women to kick back against bad male behaviour. 9/10.
I did know Jo many moons ago and she kindly signed a copy of her book for The Girl Racer and reminisced briefly about when we worked and socialised together in South London. The audience loved her because she was so direct and engaging and I have to say she was brilliant. I have even decided to forgive her for calling me ”Man at C&A" thirty years ago because it was both witty and true, and also because she said I looked like David Baddiel in front of an audience of two thousand people. I will dine out on that one for many years to come. You can see the video clip on

We are staying in a converted Welsh chapel high up in the hills in a place called Painscastle. It is gorgeous, really beautifully done. TSM did the driving heroics, for which I am very grateful.
Think I’ll sleep well tonight. Country air and all that.
Oh yeah, Theresa May did a resignation speech outside Number Ten. Nearly forgot to mention that. Very dramatic. I have a feeling this is all going to get a lot worse before it gets better ...
