Merry Christmas!
The girls were very excited of course.
Especially since they had gone to extra special lengths to make sure Santa came.
The night before Christmas Eve they had posted their letters to Santa up the chimney. The following morning they had checked that Santa has indeed visted and picked up the letters.
All well and good but that wasn't enough.
Worried that Santa and his reindeer might be hungry some carrots were laid out, mince pies, and a glass of milk.
Oh no! But the only open chimney in the house is in the kitchen. He might come down the chimney and, on seeing no Christmas tree, might think there are no children in the house!
There would be no presents!
Fear not. Toots had a solution.
Leave Santa a letter in the chimney telling him that his mince pies were in the front room under the tree. That way there's no way he could miss it!
So Toots sat and wrote Santa another letter and before going to bed left it beside the chimney in the kitchen.
And there this morning was the proof her clever idea had worked. Snow dropping off his boots, Santa left a trail from the kitchen right through to the living room where the tree is.
And he had read her list and brought her a Princess Pussy Cat that purrs and a Dora the Explorer doll.
What a perfect Christmas.
