Golly, a Gadwall!

What a gorgeous day it was today!  I went for another long walk (big surprise, I know....) and was hoping to see the hummers again in the sunshine. No luck but I did spot this female Gadwall duck on my favourite path through the woods.  It is completely under water and does not look like it will be drying up any time soon.  In the meantime, Mr and Mrs Gadwall have moved in.  He was swimming among the trees avoiding me....
