Strictly

Today we travelled to the Gower to join my family for our Christmas holiday. G drove us nearly all the way here in miserably wet weather. I say 'nearly' because by the time we arrived on the Gower the roads were so badly flooded we had to abandon the car.

We found a suitable spot to leave the car in a village about five miles from our destination. Fortunately, N & L have a four-wheel drive and were able to get through the floods to rescue us. It is a good job we were not any later because it was becoming dicey even for a Land Rover to get through.

In the evening most of the family settled down to watch the final of Strictly Come Dancing. For reasons beyond my comprehension nearly all of them love this programme. I kept at a safe distance and scoffed at it.
