Ruskin's view (from Fisherty Brow)

I'm going to have to set about losing these last few kilos if I'm going to even think about doing the Loch Ness marathon, this year*. For a start, I need to lose a bit of weight before I up my training (13.7 miles is the most I've run this year) plus I don't want to be carrying any unnecessary baggage on the run itself.

So, in addition to getting back into low carbing, I'm also trying to do my ten thousand steps a day. I was a few thousand short, this evening, so I decided to go out for a walk. Happily, Dan said he'd come with me, and we walked through the rugby club and 'round to Ruskin's View.

Much unsung, there is a stone circle over the far side of the valley, which dates back probably around 4,000 years. (Long-suffering readers of this blog might remember that I went up there a couple of years ago.) This fact and other bits of local history can be found on an information board at Fisherty Brow, whence Ruskin viewed.

*To be honest, I think it's unlikely, but it does give me some focus
