fox and cubs

We're having a pleasant stroll alongside the Grand Union Canal, when we come across these flowers.  I've never seen anything like them before.

No camera, so make do with my phone using the bendy-down/squinty-eye technique.  As luck would have it a canal boat (or two) come into shot.

I search the internet for information on these flowers and come up with Orange Hawkweed.  Hmm. Sounds quite ..... orangey.  But then I find an alternative name, Fox and Cubs.   Now that's more like it.
