London bound

It's that time in May when all the buttercups come out, giving a blush of yellow to pastureland. The birds are still singing as spring edges close to summer.

J had just seen a kingfisher fly across from a large pond to the nearby river. And we watched a jackdaw coming out of an owl box across the field. That must be its nest site. And then a pendolino flew across the viaduct, hot footing it to London, briefly disturbing the rural ambience (as do the easy jets on their way to Liverpool airport. You're always reminded how close you are to the big conurbations here).
