Driven to landscapes

I am staying with a couple I have previously hosted in Oxford, and the other couple who stayed with me three weeks ago invited us all to lunch today in the house they built 40 years ago in the Chartreuse mountains. They apologised for the clouds but it doesn't matter - the shifting light on the views is magnificent even in shades of grey and muted green. 

Our first concert this evening had a rapturous reception. A large and biased audience, but it is heartening.
