Masada and Dead Sea

We went on a tour today to Masada and the Dead Sea. Travelled through two deserts - the Judean and Negev - home to the Bedouins and tales of Abraham.

If you don’t know about Masada - have a wee look. It’s fascinating. There was also a film starting Peter O’ Toole. It was also extremely hot! En route we passed where Jesus met the Good Samaritan, saw the hills he walked over to Jerusalem, were shown the caves wherein the Dead Sea Scrolls were found, learned about Kibbutz and Co-ops, passed near the West Bank and Gaza Strips, bathed in the Dead Sea ( which is really weird - so salty and full of minerals , the bottom of the sea is hardened minerals and you can only float ! )At the end of the Dead Sea is a large hill of salt and minerals, underneath which lies Sodom and Gomorrah! A great cultural feast.
