English Longhorn
I had to make a trip up to Carlisle to get some craft supplies from Houghton Garden Centre which we needed for this weekend's show. In the same village there's a Cumbria Wildlife Trust nature reserve which I've never visited until this morning. It takes its name, Gosling Syke, from the stream running through it, a tributary of the Eden.
It's the first time I've got close to Longhorn cattle. Thankfully they seem very docile and we kept well away from cows with calves.
