Tranquil

What more tranquil spot could you find than by the River Test in Hampshire. This stretch of the famous chalk stream river is alongside part of the Test Way where it routes through Romsey.
The footpath along the river bank at this spot is known as the Causeway and leads to Sadlers Mill a local tourist attraction and now a private house, yet probably the town’s best known water mill, because of its fame for a salmon leap on the river. In fact there have been water mills mills on the river at this point since medieval times.
If you are fortunate to be passing by in the autumn you can spot salmon leaping out of the water in their attempt to reach the next stage upstream on their way to spawning stretches.
