More street work

As if road works in Romsey town’s central Market Place were not enough, there’s now the news that the main shopping thoroughfare through the town is to be closed to traffic for two weeks.
We are told the latest closure will allow contractors to improve pedestrian crossing points in the entire.
The town has suffered a series of road closures for work in the town centre for many months, all in the interests of eventual “enhancement” of the central area.
Let’s hope it does result in real improvements for shoppers, visitors and businesses whether on foot or in cars.
