Grandfather's Weatherglass
Scarlet Pimpernel's flowers close up in cool, damp or dull weather and after about 3 p.m. which gives rise to various vernacular names referencing clocks and weatherglasses. It was another glorious morning at Whitemoor, and the flowers of this small, easily overlooked plant were at their best in the morning sunshine - a surprisingly gaudy combination of scarlet, puce pink and yellow!
