Going to the country

They call it the Onlanden, a vast wetland created to keep away flood from the city Groningen and the surrounding villages.
I made a huge detour straight through this beautiful landscape and through the villages I cycled through in my childhood. The small bridleways are bicycle roads now and there was only one brick road. After the Onlanden, I continued my ride towards the village where I grew up and to the station.
I wasn't sad, only absorbing.
