Wild
A very pleasant walk to start Friday with four other ladies who were good company. We walked through meadows of long grass and great meadow flowers including, of course, lots of buttercups.
We headed for Betty’s Wood and alongside the steps we passed this lovely Cow Parsley growing tall, one of my favourites.
In the wood the newly planted broadleaf trees seem to be doing OK (the wood was cleared due to diseased Larches at the end of 2017) but the dominant features at the moment are the wild flowers and ferns. Lots of pink/ red campion along the path (I think)
Returning across the cricket field we looked back and saw a solitary deer in the longer grass. Quite a common spot to see them. Funny day but not wet but I don’t think this taste of summer us going to materialise tomorrow unless you are in the SE of the UK. Have a good weekend any way, June is upon us and summer shouldn’t be far away!
