Death trap ?

There was a  bogie race at Dunoon Stadium today, in aid of the local "Smileawi" charity which, amongst other things, is now helping to repair ambulances and other emergency vehicles in that lovely country, an initiative started  by Allan Stewart who used to own a garage in the town and was Cathleen's Parent Council chair for a while.

This was the last of the bogies to compete, and although on its first run it didn't make the finish line (perhaps not surprising for something the chassis of which is a shopping trolley) . on the second it just managed to do so, which is the reason for the triumphant gesture.

Much of the commentary about it as it came down the hill  was to do with bits that kept falling off , so I presume the "Death Trap" name scratched on to the front was a late and sarcastic addition.

(Serendipity strikes again - I have just noticed that my blip a year ago today was about a mural in the Burgh Hall  in Dunoon, which was created by Allan's father the distinguished artist and former Glasgow Art School lecturer Robert Stewart)
