Not something you see every day

A Terrapin in the Midlands.
This is one of the pools left from when the Cistercians diverted the river and formed fish ponds. A few years ago someone obviously  became tired of keeping Terrapins and turned them loose in this pool. They used to be a common sight sunning themselves but lack of maintenance has let the water become almost totally overgrown with little chance of seeing anything.
