A warm day....

down at the pool, had all the dragonfly larvae emerging! This is one of the several White Faced Darters, with its larval case, exuvia, to its left. Its wings are just filling with liquid , will then stiffen  before it is able to take to the air. Takes about two and a half hours, but that's nothing if you've been a larva underwater for two years!
Put a Red throated diver in the extra, because it always gives me a thrill to see this one of the pair on a tiny lochan as I pass by on the way to do some shopping!
