More Boats ....

.... that we didn't board. Rod Stewart was in brilliant form last night, understandably not as energetic as in days of yore, maybe, but his voice was as strong as ever and he's still a real showman.

This morning after breakfast we strolled along the waterfront marvelling at the enormity, in all senses of the word, of the cruise ships. Not our cup of tea, I'm afraid.

Later, we drove out through the New Forest to Bealieu and on to Buckler's Hard, a Georgian era riverside hamlet, now a living museum and marina for pleasure boats. In the 18th century, naval warships, including some of Nelson's fleet, were built here.

We spent a very pleasant couple of hours walking the riverside path, then watching people messing about on the river.

Back in Southampton, we had the most amazing - and filling - Turkish meal in the restaurant next to our hotel before catching the second half of the Champions League Final
