The Countess.
Today was the final show day and our guest mid morning was one half of the show presidential team the Countess of Bathurst, the Earl, her husband, being the other half!
This is our Bath and West committee chairman Georgia showing the Countess around the marquee. She was very lovely and stayed to enjoy a chat and a good cup of tea with us. Another lovely guest!
The Stockjudging was our main event today with a good entry in our three sections, beef, pigs and sheep. We had our prize giving in the afternoon . See extra of our winners.
The day was long but enjoyable. The dismantling cannot begin before 6:00pm and we cannot get any vehicle onto the site before 7:00pm. As a result we didn’t get home until nearly 9:00pm looking a bit like Fred Karno’s Army on the move with the T20 on the ifor williams trailer plus two trees, a lot of stacking chairs and an interesting selection of old farming items!
Mrs Tbay Jnr was a life saver as once we had unpacked she cooked supper for us. How lucky to have a daughter in law like that!
So that ends a terrific week for the Somerset Young Farmers!
