Taking time out.

This is the female Kestrel I have been following since March. She has been sitting on eggs for a while. A few days ago we saw the chicks' heads popping up in the nest. Today they fledged which was really exciting to watch. The canopy on the tree is very dense, and they were high up so it was difficult to get decent shots. Mum flew in with a vole, then flew off and sat on this post for quite a while. It must be tiring work having to fly back and forth to feed three hungry mouths. The photo in my extra is not great but it shows the one youngster enjoying the vole.
