THE BEACON

Opening soon in 2013 . . . this is the Redcar Beacon. This structure is a 'Vertical Pier' and it is the centrepiece of a multi-million pound regeneration of Redcar seafront.

When opened visitors will be able to see stunning panoramic views from the top-level viewing platform and a ground-floor café will serve up refreshments. Other levels will provide workshops showcasing local creative industries.

Lots of other surprises in store for next year in this special resort.

Spent the morning here, viewing the start of the new Wind Farm and seeing the Boxing Day Dippers swim in the cool North Sea ! Then lunch at Margs and to the Boro to watch a fragile win against Blackburn. Roll on Blackpool on Saturday !
