It's Christmas!

Orla didn't get up until 8.15 this morning. We had to go in and get her up in the end! She came downstairs to see the Santa key on the mat, then ran into the living room to check the mince pie & carrot. She was beyond excited to see the evidence that Santa had been! Then she opened her stocking and her presents. Santa brought her the much-wanted grey cat. It's a very special one - a snow leopard. She called him Snowy. She also got a toy golden lab puppy. She was named Rosebud. She was also delighted to find a mummy jaguar in her stocking. She said that Santa knew baby jaguar needed a mummy. Also amongst her haul was some safari Lego, a new backpack, a Simon's Cat book and a game called Cut the Rope (based on an app) which she loved. Then we went to Mass and she took Snowy and the jaguars. A little girl in front of us kept staring at the jaguar. Orla whispered to me, very theatrically, "I want to speak to that little girl. I want to tell her this is MY snow leopard!" After Mass we went to Gran and Papa's. Santa had been there too and left a baby doll called Emmi. In the afternoon the family all arrived and we had mince pies and biscuits. Uncle Andrew and Auntie Linda gave Orla more Lego, Auntie Katie and Uncle Scott gave her a Playmobil animal clinic and Uncle Patrick gave her the Ice Age 4 box set. Uncle Andrew and Auntie Linda went home for their dinner but everyone else stayed at ours. Big family dinner, followed by telly watching then later pudding and game playing. Orla ended up falling asleep on the couch with me, her Dad and Gran. A lovely day.
