Whitley Bay

A lovely day in the Northumbrian sun. My sunglasses broke in Whitley Bay but a friendly optician repaired them. Later we had lunch at Seaton Sluice - a delightful spot. Then we struck out for the cottage west of Alnwick, where we’ll be for 4 days.

Before dinner, I stumbled across a series of fields to the remote Edlingham Castle and the nearby church.
