Canada Geese
A lovely, sunny day
We headed to Ambleside, a busy little town at the head of Windermere. There were plenty of small shops to browse and lots of cafés to eat in.
After lunch, we went the few miles to Rydal Water which we walked round, a distance of just under three miles. It was warm in the sunshine, which enhanced the enjoyment of the scene and the walk. A special moment was when we saw a pair of Canada Geese and their young - which you can see in the Blip.
We moved on the few miles to Grasmere, a real gem of a village. It was William Wordsworth’s favourite spot, indeed he and his family are buried in the lovely church burial ground, which is full of daffodils in the Spring.
