Sofala
Headed off with some of the photo group to the town of Sofala in the central west of NSW.
Sofala is the oldest surviving gold rush town in Australia.
For me, its charm lies in its authenticity.
There have been a few attempts to restore some of the old buildings and to capitalise on its past, but most are fairly ramshackle, and it's easy to imagine what it would have been like in the 1850s.
A couple of extras to give you the flavour of the place.
