Phone boxes re-invented

Delighted to see that the traditional red phone box is not totally disappearing in the wake of the mobile phone.
Indeed, the red phone box is an icon of British heritage of the 20th century.
This one on the edge of the New Forest has been turned into a community library where villagers can exchange books. Others have become community information centres. I have seen them housing ATM cash machines, and hear they are ideal for housing emergency defibrillators.
A number of years ago I recall calling at a village across the Channel in Normandy where one stood as a symbol of a twinning arrangement with a Hampshire village.
