Lanyon Quoit
A quoit is a bit like a stone mushroom but with four legs and standing taller than a man at about 1.5 metres. Their origins are buried in antiquity, but it is thought to be from 3500 to 2500BC. This one fell in a storm in 1815 and re-erected a few years later but with three legs. It may have been used as a mausoleum. There are a few dotted around Cornwall. Of course the old tin mine building on the horizon had to be included.
Long journey home tomorrow.
