Give peace a chance
We took a bus down to Lauterbrunnen and a train to Wengen where we went to the hotel we stayed at in February to go skiing. We left a message thanking the receptionist there for posting back my purse which LooseCanon kindly left in the bar there!! Grrr.
We walked from Wengen up to Kleine Scheidegg, not quite as far or as hard as yesterday but warmer! We had a most welcome beer at the top then took the train back down , which cost a fortune!
RANT ALERT;
Looks a beautiful tranquil peaceful mountain scene, this shot of the Jungfrau right?
Wrong. About once every two minutes throughout the day, sightseeing helicopters go from the Lauterbrunnen Valley, do a circuit of the scenery and back again. I shudder to think how much it costs. I suppose it's for tourists with lots of money who are unable or unwilling to walk or even get the train up into the mountains to enjoy the scenery.
There are two problems with this. The continuous roar of helicopters really spoils the day and really really gets on your nerves after a while.
Secondly, how much fuel does it use? Those trips should be the first thing to go come the ( green) revolution.
Extra, gentians.
