Nice Reflections

We caught the bus from Nice to Saint Paul de Vence which is one of the medieval hill top towns - it was an hour on the bus and was only €1.50 each way!  Luckily we got on at the first bus stop so we got a seat, but as we wound our way the bus got busier and busier with people stood even on the entrance steps, and yet people were still getting on!  One passenger was a handicapped young man, and the driver came out of his cab and shouted down the bus for someone to give up their seat, and he didn't drive off until the young man was safely sat down.  I was very impressed, as I'm not sure some our bus drivers at home would do that

When we arrived, I'd forgotten just how steep it was within the town with old cobbled narrow streets, but mum did well, we just took our time stopping for an ice cream and then finally a glass of wine. We had a couple of hours there, and then caught the bus back to Nice.  Again it was busy and I said to the driver that I needed to check there was a seat for mum, otherwise we'd wait until the next bus, he got up, checked and said there were seats at the back - once again, very caring.

Back in Nice we had a stroll along the seafront and then I spotted 'Le Petit Train' which mum wanted to go on, so we got on and had a tour around Nice, so she could see more of it than we'd be able to walk.  We then walked back to our apartment through the park where they have a huge fountain area for kids to play in.  We watched for a while and when the fountains stop, there are some great reflections as the surface acts as a mirror once it's wet.

We were both tired tonight, so chose a restaurant very close to the apartment, the food wasn't as good as last night's but it was ok.
