A Bridge Too Far
The rain was a little easier today, just one big shower when we were in Nero, in fact about to leave when we decided it would be prudent to sit it out.
As we were walking in past the Chinese Pavilion I noticed the gardens wall had been somewhat damaged. Now I know some local residents didn't like the idea of a pavilion, which personally I think is very nice and in an ideal setting, but to wilfully breach the walls seems a bit extreme!
Whatever had hit it had done some with some force, the sign says 3ton limit but I would guess it was bigger than that especially as further along a large section of the wall had been dislodged.
The only other alternative is that someone had been locked in the gardens overnight and had tried to tunnel themselves out, a bit unlikely as there are no gates on the Firs.
A little bit of European in the extras, this is Ann's cappuccino, made by her favourite barista at Cafe Nero, a touch of Italian!
