It’s a privilege

We walked around the whole island of Berneray today, 9 miles in total, it’s not very big. That included 3 miles walking along a white sandy beach, bliss and it felt such a privilege. There is hardly any other visitors so we were treated to and saw lots of lapwings, the odd oystercatcher and little terns which like the lapwings are ground nesting birds. We also heard lots of skylarks. We did have rain first thing but the sun was shining this evening and I am trying to photograph a decent sunset which doesn’t happen until 10.30 pm.
