Villa Melzi

Today we took the ferry over to Varenna where we had lunch. On the way we noticed the heavy rain and wind over the last couple of nights has resulted in large amounts of vegetation being washed into the Lake. Some pieces of vegetation are quite large, almost small tree trunks. Not much of a problem for the ferry, though it was obviously avoiding the "islands of debris" such as that shown in the extra, but could be a hazard for a small boat travelling at speed.

The main picture shows the Villa Melzi on the outskirts of Bellagio. The garden is open to the public though the Villa itself is not.
