Black-headed Gull

A day of gusting winds, ominous black clouds, blue sky, sunshine and eventually complete cloud cover .... BUT .... it has been very mild and we've had no rain.

Walking round the loch this morning I watched some school kids learning about raft building with planks of wood, rope and empty plastic barrels ... it was too windy to take out the sailing yachts. I didn't wait for the great launch.

There is so much weed in the loch at the moment that it provides camouflage for snoozing birds .... two sleeping Goosanders were almost invisible .... their orange heads gave them away. They were a bit too far away to get a good pic ... the extra was the best I could get without falling into the water!
