An extraordinary dawn sky.
When I got into the park the sky was really grey - then this happened - it was like having two predawn skies for the price of one!
I did wonder why the swan had not come up to see me. I went down to where he and his mate have their nest and was thrilled to see that he was with her as she sat on the nest with one wing stretched out a bit. I waited for about twenty minutes, she lifted her wing up a bit and I spotted a little grey head - so I knew we had new life there. I did to go home until 10.00, hoping to see at least one of the remaining three eggs hatch. That did not happen. A friend is by the nest now, nearly 5pm, still waiting for the remaining three eggs to hatch.
See my extra for a first glimpse of the new baby.
