Into the Green

It looked quite surreal cruising towards what looked like solid ground. With all the wet weather and sometimes humid conditions the duckweed has taken over parts of the river.
The Canal and River Trust have to intervene when it gets bad otherwise aquatic life suffers from lack of sunlight and oxygen.
Apparently it is edible for humans :-\
