Convoy
We left Naburn this morning at 8.30. To go through the massive lock which is also used for large commercial boats you have to book a time with the lock keeper. This is so that he can make best use of the lock by getting more than one boat in to save water; though there has been enough rain the last couple of weeks to keep water levels way up! There were three narrowboats all going through at once which was also good as we weren't sure how fast the Ouse might be flowing - safety in numbers ;-)
As it happens it wasn't too bad and we got down to Selby without any problems. A lovely couple who we have been travelling with over the last week lent us one of their walkie talkies so we could keep in contact.
Now settled for the night in Selby.
