The entrance to Park View 4U.

A few years ago this area was a patch of grass that flooded in winter, had run down buildings and wasn't at all welcoming after dark.

But a few local people got together with a vision to create a vibrant park for the whole community to use.

Park View 4U is a brilliant example of how working together can make huge differences in a community.

The inscription on the entrance is a poem written by a young girl from Lytham and is called Guardian of the park. The other carvings are design by local children and include cogs to represent the workings of the windmill, and the pebbles from the beach.

I have blip to thank for making me take a little time to research some of the things I photograph, so I've learned as well today.
