Bleedin’ Art

You’d think a day of messing about with paint, brushes and paper would appeal to most children but our Art Day didn’t prove to be that popular with ours. By 11 o’clock they were flagging and there was so much moaning you’d think we’d asked them to go up chimneys.
The whole school were set the task of producing a Monet-inspired painting and we based ours on ‘The Castle In Antibes’, integrating skills like colour mixing, using a variety of tools (cotton buds) and stippling to produce the finished picture. They’re all going up on a display board for next weeks open evening so I spent ages after school trimming and backing them, printing photos and words to go with them.
I certainly feel like I’ve earned this large gin.
