Bedraggled goldfinch shelters to snooze awhile
Reminds me of the nursery rhyme: The North wind doth blow and we shall have snow,
And what will poor robin do then, poor thing?
He'll sit in a barn and keep himself warm
and hide his head under his wing, poor thing.
This was taken through double glazing and the bird was within 2 feet of my door sheltering under the overhanging roof. Every so often it would fly off to the feeders, top up and then return to its shell perch and snooze again.
