Poppi goodbyes

We said are goodbyes in the shadow of the hilltop castle at Poppi. It’s been lovely having Terry here.

Thunder and rain moved in unexpectedly causing a lighting strike at Florence airport that delayed takeoff.

The Boss is on return chaperone duties and flies back tomorrow on an 7.30am Sunday flight from Edinburgh.

Meanwhile I flailed away at the bottom terrace overgrown to blazes. The big strimmer eventually ran out of line and I out of puff and sweat.

The birdsong here is amazing. Dawn choruses that rock the rafters and at night the nightingales floating across the cool breeze that keeps us on an even keel.
