J's party

My friend J invited us to her drinks party today. It was a highly convivial affair, with good company, plenty to drink and nice food to keep us going.

J is a textile artist. This is one of my favourite pieces of hers.

Did anyone else listen to Marina Warner talking about Grimm's Fairy Tales on Radio 4 over the holidays? There was one rather gruesome moment when the princess threw the frog across the bedroom - he had been trying to share her bed - and he went splat against the wall.

Cooked comforting fish pie for our supper. Mmmm.
