Lancaster canal
I went into Lancaster with Dan, this afternoon, to drop him at his guitar lesson. I mentioned that I still had a few thousand steps to do and he suggested I should walk up to the canal and take a picture of a bridge that I rather like.
Although I liked the idea, I realised that wasn't going to be far enough, so I lengthened the journey and walked out past the Musicians' Co-op - where, nearly three decades ago, I used to rehearse and record with Jeff and Teresa - then up Moor Lane, and along to the cathedral.
Peering over the bridge on Nelson Street, I realised that I was following the path of the canal although I hadn't seen it from the road, so I made my way down. My journey was transformed! Now, rather than walking along the roads, I was amongst the old buildings, some of which must have been warehouses, I guess, which included some bars, with people sat out drinking by the water. Lovely!
I walked all the way along to the bridge, which is my extra, today.
